Tall Utah 52-70 is an extra crispy, flavoursome and string less cellery variety. This bleached cellery is very popular because of it's delicious flavour. It has green stems and leaves. This late flowering variety can be harvested in the fall. Use the leaves and finely sliced stems in soups, salads, stews, sauces in stews, with meat and fish. Annual. Contains a lot of vitamin C.

Sow indoors or outdoors under glass from march on in trays in sowing soil. Cover the seeds lightly with a very thin layer of soil. Transplant the seedlings outside about 20 cm apart, when there is no longer any danger of nightfrost, from the beginning of may. Young seedlings have a low tolerance against cold. Be careful with temperatures below 13°C , because they can cause bolting.
Sow outdoors, when there is no longer any danger of nightfrosts. From may till june. Sow in rows 60 cm apart. Cover the seeds barely. Keep moist and weedfree. Thin the seedlings to 20 cm apart when they are large enough to handle.
Celery needs extra nitrogen for a good leave growth. Water well and don't let the soil dry out. Celery needs a sunny plot with some shade and good drainage.Cut the outer stems before harvesting.
