Hollyhock Jet Black is an easy to grow, hardy, perennial with large, very dark single flowers. The flowers are very dark and almost black. This unusual eye-catcher in your garden has a good resistance against cold weather.
Very well suited for a spot in the back of a border or against a wall or fence. It's also a cut flower and it attracts butterflies. Height: 180 - 200 cm.

Sow outdoors on a sowing bed from May till July. Sow shallow and press the seeds gently into the soil. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil and keep the seed moist and weedfree.
Thin the seedlings, when they're large enough to handle, to 40 cm. Put the plants in October till November on a sunny and sheltered spot. Hollyhock attracts butterflies. Cut the plants hard after flowering has ended. These plants will reseed themselfs freely. The plants flower next year.
