Sow indoors in trays or individual pots with some potting soil from february till march. Sow shallow and press in the seeds gently. Cover the tray with a lid and the pots with some clingfilm. Keep moist. Keep the temperature as even as possible. Don't let the temperature drop during the night.
Remove the lid or the clingfilm when the seedlings emerge. Harden the seedlings of for 10 - 14 days by putting them outdoors during the day from the beginning of may. Transplant outdoors to a sunny plot with some shade after mid may, when there's no longer any danger of nightfrosts.
Sow outdoors on a well prepared seedbed from end of may till july. Sow shallow and rake in the seeds gently. Keep moist and weedfree. Thin the seedlings to 30 cm apart, when they're large enough to handle. Lupin can be sensitive to mildew. This plant is attractive to bees and butterflies. Lupin is poisonous.
