Sweet marjoram originates from the Mediterrean and is used often in it's kitchen. Needs a very sunny and sheltered spot. Needs to be planted inside in the winter. Can easily be sown in pots in kitchen window sill. Use the leaves and young flower buts. Can be used fresh or dried in soeps, dressing, sauces, salads, on pizza, with lamb, pig and other meats in pasta's and tomatosauces.

Sow indoors from march on, plant the seedlings out in may, when there is no longer any danger of night frosts. Needs a very sunny and sheltered spot with some shadow in the afternoon. Doesn't like wet feed.
Sweet marjoram isn't hardy in our climate and needs to be stored inside in pots for the winter or re-sown every year.
