Caigua

Caigua originates from the Andes area. You can grow this vegetable very easily in our colder climate, despite it's exotic appearance. Give it a warm and sheltered spot. It's also known as stuffing cucumber and stuffing gourd. The flavour resembles the flavour of cucumber with a slightly lemon-like acid flavour. The fruits can be cooked, baked, filled with minced meat and added to stews, stir-fries, soups and sauces.
