Yard Long is a very popular variety with long, slender, beans which can grow up to 91 cm tall. Harvest the beans when they're about 30 cm tall and nice and tender. Doesn't tolerate cold, wind and moist conditions and needs a warm, sunny and sheltered plot. Ideal for a greenhouse. Harvest often to ensure a vigirous growth. Use in Surinamese recipes, stews, soups and shortly cooked as vegetable. Height: 175 - 200 cm.

Sow indoors from april on for an early harvest. Sow in individuals pots 1 seed per pot about 3-4 cm deep. Cover the seeds with a tick layer of soil. Keep the temperature as constant as possible on 18 - 22 °C.
Sow outdoors on a sunny, sheltered plot from mid may, when there's no longer any danger of nightfrosts and the soil begins to warm up. Beans don't tolerate cold soil. This variety needs free draining soil and some support.
